Clean Out Your Pantry – Tips From Dietician Sharon Richter
When it comes to Spring Cleaning, it’s helpful to start in a small area where you can make big progress. Why not combine two goals with one?
Clean out your pantry – and improve your health – by following these Spring Cleaning Tips from registered dietitian Sharon Richter:
Step 1: Empty everything out of your food pantry! It’s okay to start with a mess. You’ll be surprised to find what’s hiding in there!
Step 2: Throw away anything that has expired – anything that has been open for more than a couple weeks – and anything you know you’re not going to use.
Step 3: Organize everything by category! Snacks, meal starters, nuts and dried fruits, oils/dressings, cereal and carbs, are good places to start.
Step 4: Check the labels. Here are a couple ingredients you should avoid: hydrogenated oil, HFCS, MSG.
Step 5: Make sure you have plenty of portion-controlled snacks readily available and at the front of the pantry as you tend to eat more of what is eye-level or easily accessible.

What a great giveaway!
My tip is to take Spring Cleaning one room at a time so as not to get too overwhelmed! 🙂

Great tip! This is one I really have to employ because it doesn’t take much to overwhelm me!
(I always seem to end up with a circle of “stuff” around me when I spring clean!)

Good luck with your yard sale Laura – those can be so much fun!
As for the dusting and cleaning – want to pay me a visit? 🙂
My best Spring cleaning tip is to pace yourself and be tough about passing things on. Vera khule at gmail dot com from CT
I like to do one task at a time for example go around to every room and dust furniture, then go around and vacuum every room, etc. This allows me to stay motivated rather than doing it room by room because I tend to finish one room and say “I’ll do the rest later”!

I live in Washington state and I love cleaning out the closets and donating clothes.
go room by room so you do not get overwhelmed
my tip is to pick a sunny day, so you can take everything outside, let fridge drawers and rugs and everything you wash dry in the sun 🙂
Clean a little at a time to prevent getting overwhelmed!

My Spring cleaning tip is to do one room at a time, and open the windows on a nice day!

I like Watkins products!
When you think positively and think ahead to the end results, it helps motivate you to get started. Don’t you always feel a real sense of accomplishment when it’s done?! Thanks for the chance at the giveaway!
My tip would be to clean year round on a regular basis so it doesn’t pile up in the first place. Also, when you do clean, take it one room at a time rather than dedicate a full day to cleaning. Space it out.
Wash or vacuum your drapes.
My tip is to make a list of one thing to do a day and not do it all at once. My biggest spring cleaning thing to do on my list this year is clean out our garage!

Take a spring vacation every year for getting your house in order. It is too rough to spring clean while working.
My best spring cleaning tip is to pace yourself and do a couple rooms at a time and not the whole house at once. Also, try and get the entire family into it rather than having one person carry the brunt of the work.
