Welcome to Where Bloggers Create 2014! We are so excited to invite you into our creative play space as we join hostess Karen Valentine of My Desert Cottage, along with creative bloggers around the world, for the fifth year in a row!
This is my second year writing and crafting in “The Creative Corner” – a somewhat cozy space that only holds half of what my previous studio held! I’m still adjusting – but it’s totally worth it in order to gaze out upon the green trees and blue skies that my previous space lacked.
That is the view I have when I’m not gazing at my computer screen… or being distracted by Magellan – the latest member of the Create With Joy family! Magellan was a gift of love from my husband! He joined our household at Christmastime and is now 8 and a half months old.
When I swivel my chair around, I face my desk – and a closet which houses shelves of crafting supplies.
What will you find inside of all of those pretty tins and baskets?
Well, you’ll find lots and lots of acrylic stamps from companies like Close To My Heart I have a serious addiction!
Of course, you’ll also find plenty of traditional wood-mounted stamps from companies like Stampin Up! I’m an equal opportunity stamper!
And flowers… don’t forget the flowers!
And embellishments galore!
But wait! There’s more!
What good are all of those embellishments without pretty paper to hang them from? Paper lives under the window, to the right of my computer, where it’s always within easy reach (and out of the damaging rays of the sun)!
Here’s a close-up to give you a better idea of how things are organized inside. I try to organize papers by size, color, and manufacturer whenever it makes sense. I also organize by paper types and by themes (not shown in this photo). How do you organize your paper stash?
Between my desk and the paper cabinets is a handy dandy supply shelf which houses lots of useful tools and goodies that I frequently use when sitting at my desk creating something lovely. Some of the fun things you’ll find house on these shelves include:
Lots of pretty spools of wonderful Washi Tape!
Roll after roll of beautiful ribbon!
Layer upon layer of delicate lace!
Finally – what’s a studio without color? To the left of my computer lives all of my ink pads!
And, what do I create inside of The Creative Corner? All types of paper crafts!
Here’s one of my favorite cards, which I created for a company called Smart Fab early this year. As you will see from my post, my cats play a huge part in my creative process – even as a kitten, I could not keep Magellan away from the crafting supplies!
Thank you SO much for joining us for this year’s Where Blogger’s Create 2014 tour at Create With Joy! We hope you’ll stay in touch by following our blog and social media accounts and connecting with us each week at one or more of our creative blog parties!

Thanks so much for stopping by Marcia – you’re my first guest this year! 🙂
I LOVE those pretty pink and white gingham baskets!
I wanted to buy more but they sold out!
Are you participating in this year’s tour?
If so, let me know – I’d love to see where you create!
Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Thanks for taking us on the Grand Tour… smiled when I saw your Fur Baby visiting your Space and making comfy… my Creative Space is the one place my ‘Outdoors Only’ Fur Babies feel comfortable coming inside to visit… I often leave the door open when I’m in there and their Curiosity gets the best of them and they venture inside. *smiles* Your Organizational Skills are superb, I suffer from Chronic Disorganization so I’m busy taking tips and Notes as I visit each Well Organized Space during the Blog Party! *LOL*

Ooh what do you use to store your Embellishments, I love the look of it. I’m not sure what I’d put in one, but I like how it looks 😀

Aren’t those embellishment containers fab?
Those are from Close To My Heart.
I don’t know if they still carry them in the current catalogs – but if you find someone selling them they are SO worth it! 🙂
I know you … LOL! I’m so happy to see your crafting space and ALL those lovely embellishments. Is Magellan the head of the quality control team? You were very lucky to pick up those containers from Close To My Heart. Your card is gorgeous as well as those white baskets with pink liners. Stamps take up room so it can be a challenge sometimes. I’ve enjoyed my tour and now off to visit others. I’ll be back 🙂
So organised . Love how everything has it’s place.
Thank you for sharing your creative space
Wow. You are so organized. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with all the stuff I collect it ends up collecting dust. 😉
Found you on SITS. Love seeing other creative hearts out there. Have great day!
I enjoyed my tour. I have gleaned lots of ideas for organizing my space which is still a work in progress. I love the white baskets, they would be pretty in my space too. One day I hope to be as organized as you. Thanks for inviting us in.

Oh my, your Magellan needs to teach my Buck how to behave in a crafty space! I had to relocate all of my glass jars and dishes from window ledges into cubby areas so he’d stop tipping them over!
Your space is wonderfully organized!

Thanks so much for joining the party!! Your studio is a scrappers dream!!! I’m sure it was an adjustment to move to a smaller space, but what you did looks fabulous!!
I’m having so much fun, and visiting your studio has been part of it!!!

Surfing in from The Sits Girls Sharefest today. Wow! Love all the goodies you have in your crafting corner/closet. I think I might be a little envious. 🙂
you are sooo organized and so prettily organized that you are making me want to jump out of the window lol. You would DIE if you saw my office!
Ahh a girl after my own heart! I am crazy organized when it comes to storing ribbon, washi, ETC – it is all together and seperated! Love your space! TFS
Awwww…. LOVE Magellan – so beautiful. What a nice creative space you have – so organized! Thank you for the tour and the introduction to your furry family member too! (I have three cats, so I love to see others’ felines!)
Great space. I love how your boxes all coordinate. I am trying to get there. Maybe someday. I linked my little space. Come and see me.
From one papercrafter to another -thanks for the tour of your lovely studio!
Aren’t we lucky to have lovely spaces to create in. Love your great organisation.Love your studio.
Loved looking at all the eye candy. Thank you for sharing!
What a fun peek into your creative space – thank you. You’re so wonderfully organized – I especially love those shelves with the gorgeous blue tins.
Oh, thats what I call organized!!! Love how you store your embellishments.
Thanks for sharing!

Kathy – you’re welcome to come over and play in my creative play space any time! 🙂
A woman after my own heart… love stamps and paper. I am envious of all the different stamp pads you have. I have a few acrylic stamps that adhere to acrylic pads, but I love wood backed stamps. One day, these kinds of stamps will be collector’s items due to the wood and the beauty of the carved designs. Can you tell I enjoyed your tour?
Judith
What inspiration. I love how you have organised things in your workspace. I am still trying to re-organise myself after moving to a much smaller space and splitting my canvas painting space and my other craft space into two separate workspaces.
Wow! Just WOW!
Lovely space and beautiful things everywhere you look!

What a wonderful idea for a post!
Such great photos, too!
Right now I’d feel embarrassed to share and compare my surroundings in their entirety.
I’ve shared glimpses in the past, but…
I am nowhere near satisfied with my creative space, despite the touches I’ve put together.
How can I can when living in a small one room apartment?
Maybe it’s being tired and concerned all the time.
I have written an essay on my “ideal writing space”, though.

Wow, what an inspiring collection and organization! And Magellan is such a cute distraction. 🙂
Wow! I’m impressed with both your organization and all the wonderful supplies you have!!
Peace,

How do I organize paper? Hmmm. Push a little to the left and a bit more to the right. Lay down. Get up. Adjust the paper on the right a bit more to the left. Lay down again. Still a bit lumpy. Get up. Adjust the paper in the middle a bit to the right. Lay down. Purrfect. Snooze! Now I’m seeing that you are VERY organized with your paper and everything else too. And so I must not let “her” see this. Because if “she” were to organize her paper stash so efficiently as you have, well I might never get a chance to organize paper MY way! And I know that “she” would love your idea. So while I enjoyed my visit, I must depart quickly now so that your organizational ideas are not seen by “her” eyes! Thank you for the tour!

Magellan shares your ideas for paper organization.
I wish Tsunami did… unfortunately, he prefers to EAT my paper (hence – the behind-the-cabinet paper wtorage!)
Drop by anytime – we LOVE crafty cats at Create With Joy! 🙂
