What’s Inspiring You This Week?
Here’s What’s Inspiring Me!

September Is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

This month, I am proud to be part of the Book Launch Team for
Never Ever Give Up – The Inspiring Story Of Jessie And Her Joy Jars!

It is the inspirational story of a young girl who was diagnosed with an
Inoperable and incurable brain tumor when she was 11 years old –
But who was more concerned about the care and welfare of the other
Young patients around her than her own personal needs!

Never Ever Give Up

As a result of one simple question –
“What can we do to help them?” –
A simple act of compassion has grown into a foundation that now is
Impacting the lives of children with cancer around the world!

Please stop by to learn more about Jessie’s story and childhood cancer at
Never Ever Give Up and help spread the word about this wonderful book!

This is just one of the many fabulous books I’ve read as of late!

Music To Inspire You – Downtown Train

Welcome to Music Moves Me!
This week, Danielle of Royalegacy has chosen an unusual musical theme:
Songs about trains or songs with the word train in it!

I’m always in the mood for a good love song –
So my pick for the week is Rod Stewart’s version of Downtown Train –
A song he took to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1989, and
Number 1 on the Adult Rock and Adult Contemporary charts!

He also went to #1 in Canada with this song –
Made the Top Ten Singles Chart in the UK –
And earned himself a Grammy Nomination for Best Male Pop Vocalist!

What’s your favorite Train-themed song?
Share your picks in the comments –
Or better yet, share your video pick at the party!

Great party I found some great recipes. I took care of a little girl with leukemia when I was about 11 years old and was at a time they did not talk about the disease and kept it hidden.

At the time I did not understand why they stopped having me sit with her, it was only a short time before she passed. I still think about her. Thanks for sharing her book, Jesse’s story will help many and Joy Jar’s will comfort many children.

    Have a great week,
    Karren

One of the wonderful things about blogging and social media is that it gives individuals and families who are dealing with chronic and terminal illnesses a chance to connect with others and to bring their situations out into the light.

Jessie’s story is so inspiring… I feel privileged to be a part of the launch team for this book!

Oh yes, there are so many train songs with our theme this week it’s unreal. When you first think oh no, the theme is songs about trains etc. and you think… oooo that’s hard. There is really quite a few once you think about it. Here’s another I know like the back of my hand that I didn’t think of, but am sure glad you did. Way ta go girlfriend, and i hope you brings some friends with you. Let me grab your logo for my blog. Thanks for joining us today. Hugs and you’ve definitely ROCKED THE HOUSE THIS WEEK! WOO HOO!

Marie, I had exactly the same thought process that you did when I saw this week’s music theme!
I thought it was going to be hard to come up with train songs – and then, I ended up coming up with such a long list, I narrowed it down to the one I liked the most (hoping that it would be one that everyone else wouldn’t choose!)
Anyway, this ended up being a really fun theme – and I enjoyed hearing Sheena Easton’s song, which I also love (and missed on my list of train songs!)

Nice post I want some of the curried egg salad & the cinnamon apples heheh!

I really like Rod Stewart always thought his version of this was excellent 😉

Have a appletastic day will pop by tomorrow heheh!

  10. I almost picked Rod Stewart’s music video for this morning’s theme. I was surprised to find so many train themed songs that I not only knew, but liked. I love your all of your inspiration here today. The fake caramel apples and the decluttering tips particularly grabbed my interest. Have a tunetastic week!

PS: Can you please keep my FIL in prayer. He’s not doing too well. Ever since my MIL passed in June, he has taken a sharp decline in his health. I just don’t think he’ll be with us much longer at this rate, but I know where he’s heaven bound. Thanks!

I am sorry to hear about your FIL Cathy and will certainly keep him in prayer.
Perhaps you could encourage him to join a local grief group?
I’ve participated in a wonderful program called GriefShare in the past (they are national) – but there may be others in your community as well.
Having a place to share your losses with others who understand can be just the balm he needs!

So glad you enjoyed this week’s inspirations as well!
