Card Of The Week – Release The Past

WOYWW 310: What’s On My Work Desk This Week?

This week, I am in the process of creating a care package for a friend who is going through a difficult time, and as part of that package, I wanted to create a card with a positive, affirming message that would make her feel uplifted every time she looked at it.

To reflect the situation at hand, I decided to incorporate “something old and something new” into the design!

For “something old”, I decided to use the paper scraps from the Faith, Hope & Love card I created a few weeks ago (CTMH Silhouette). Not only does it decrease some of the clutter on my workspace – it also gives me the challenge of using the same base elements to create a different card!

For “something new”, I decided to use one of the new Unity Stamp sets I recently purchased. I pulled out three sets that I could possibly incorporate into the design – but ultimately, I chose an image and sentiment from Give With All Your Heart.

I angled the image and the sentiment to add a sense of “movement” into the design – and I embellished it with coordinating floral ribbon (CTMH), lovely flowers (Petaloo), pretty pewter pearls and rhinestone bling to make it beautiful and feminine!

A pretty lacy white doily with black distressed edges peeks out and ties all of the layered pieces together.

Now it’s your turn to share your creations with us! What have you created or acquired this week? Whether you’re showing off your desk, your latest acquisitions, or your latest creation – be sure to share it with our creative community at one of our weekly parties as well!

So pretty! Anyone would feel so special to receive something so lovingly made. you’re so creative, I tried this and I am afraid it was a bit messy my first time with the ink stamp. but practice, practice, right? 🙂

Rory, I’m so delighted to hear that you gave stamping a whirl for the first time! Have fun with it and practice, practice, practice – each stamp inks and impresses differently, and I ALWAYS do “test” impressions before stamping the images I intend to use!

I don’t like getting all messy but you have to get in the mindset that it’s part of the fun!

Would love to see your creations – when you feel like sharing, link up to one of my parties and leave a comment with the number so I can stop by for a visit! 🙂

“Release the past, unfold the future”

I like that…sort of what I wanted to try to do when I left California behind and moved to Texas in 2012.

The future that unfolded hasn’t been quite what I’d planned or hoped for, but creativily I HAVE done a few new things.

Heard you was not feeling well, Mom Ramona, and so we wanted to send purrs and purrayers your way!

Thanks so much for stopping by Kiril – I like this quote too and agree that the future never quite unfolds the way we plan – which is why I do my best to “trust in the Lord with all of my heart…”

      Have a purr-fect week!
