Lowcountry Bordello

Lowcountry Bordello – A Liz Talbot Mystery – Review

In just five days – on the 20th of December – Private Liz Talbot and her business partner Nate Andrews have a date with one another at the wedding altar.

Surely, Mamma’s not being unreasonable to expect that Liz make her wedding preparations and her personal life a priority for once.

But anyone who knows Liz Talbot – that unconventional private investigator who secretly gets by with a little help from her friend, Colleen (an apparition with an agenda all her own) – knows that just isn’t how Liz Talbot rolls!

When a long-time friend, Robert, attempts to hire Liz to follow his wife Olivia because of her suspicious behavior – and when her friend and bridesmaid Olivia calls her claiming her husband Robert has been murdered (although there’s no body to be found) – Liz finds herself in the midst of one of her most challenging cases to date – one where friends will be called into question, suspects will do whatever it takes to protect their personal and family secrets, and no one is quite who they seem to be!

If you enjoy a good cozy mystery – one filled with quirky characters, an exciting plot, suspenseful developments with every flick of the page, and lots of Southern flavor – curl up in your favorite reading spot with Lowcountry Bordello by Susan M. Boyer!

Lowcountry Bordello is the fourth book in Susan’s Agatha Award Winning Liz Talbot series, but it can easily be read on its own. Don’t let the title scare you away – the setting proves to be an essential part of the story line and the content isn’t racy.

I’d rate the book itself PG-13 for those of you who may still have concerns about its suitability.

Susan is a master at creating memorable characters and storylines that continue to draw you in and keep you guessing “whodunit” throughout the book.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
