Signs In Life – Finding Direction In Our Travels With God – Book Review

Signs In Life

Signs In Life by Deanna Nowadnick – Book Review

Have you ever sped through life so fast – so completely caught up in your own worries and your world – that you failed to stop, look around, and notice the signs that were all around you?

Signs that were meant to protect you from harm… Signs that were meant to warn you of inpending danger… Signs that were meant to protect others from the consequences of your own potentially harmful behavior…

In Signs In Life – Finding Direction In Our Travels With God by Deanna Nowadnick, we are reminded, through a series of humorous anecdotes and lessons gleaned from Deanna’s own personal experiences, how God guides us through life by providing us with signs, both real and divine, that help us to find and follow God’s purpose for our lives and get back on track when we wander off in the wilderness.

The metaphor is derived from the opening story in which Deanna is pulled over for speeding through a school zone – an encounter she does not initially handle with social grace or spiritual finesse.

Sings In Life is Deanna’s second book. What I love most about Deanna’s writing is her ability to weave compelling, homespun stories about her life that are inspirational, educational, and infused with the love, mercy and grace of God.

If you enjoy reading vignettes that both enlighten and entertain, then you will enjoy reading Sings In Life!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

About Deanna Nowadnick

Deanna Nowadnick

Although Deanna Nowadnick was an English Major, she never planned on being a writer. As a matter of fact, she never cared much for her college writing assignments! However, her mother’s dying wish was for her to write a book. Before her father passed away, he reminded Deanna of this wish.

At that time, the thought of writing a book was unfathomable to Deanna. With two young boys to care for, some days, she could barely put together a grocery list!

But as time passed and her boys grew, one by one, all of the excuses Deanna had for not writing eventually ran dry and she came to the realization that writers write books!

Now, Deanna has written two books – Fruit Of My Spirit and Signs In Life – which are both collections of stories that tell of God’s love and faithfulness as well as His remarkable grace and mercy.

When Deanna is not writing, she serves as the Client Service Coordinator for an investment advisory firm and is active in her church.

  1. Thanks, Ramona! I appreciate your time and review of both Signs in Life as well and my first book, Fruit of My Spirit. Your site is beautiful and inspiring. Thanks again–for all that you do!

Sounds like a great book. I’m studying Experiencing God with our small group at church right now. That’s also helping keep me on the right road with God. Love the signs metaphor, though. Thanks for participating in the #LMMLinkup.

Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby? That’s a wonderful book! I know you’ll be blessed by your study Leslie.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

    • Thanks, Leslie! Not only were the signs helpful as I wrote, but I ended up walking beside Moses, not someone I would have expected to travel with. God has the most marvelous way of connecting us to a much bigger story. That’s an Experience (yes, capital E)!
