None Like Him by Jen Wilkin – Book Review & Giveaway

None Like Him

None Like Him – Book Review

One of the most memorable experiences in my life occurred in my early days as a Christian. I had enrolled in Bible School and was taking a class on Bible Doctrine with a teacher whose over-arching concern was our relationship with God. At the beginning of each class, he told us that if we only remembered one thing from his class that entire semester, this is what it should be:

Right living begins with right thinking, and right thinking begins with right thinking about God.

In many ways, author Jen Wilken reminds me of my instructor.

In Jen’s latest book, None Like Him – 10 Ways God Is Different From Us, Jen teaches us about ten important attributes of God. As she delves into the character of God, she reminds us that:

God is self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign, infinite, and incomprehensible.

We’re not.

And that’s a good thing.

Through real-life examples and clear-cut illustrations from Scripture, Jen helps us to understand how God’s ways are so much higher than our ways – that while we are made in the image of our great Creator God, we are not God – and why this is a good thing.

None Like Him is a book that women who want to learn more about the attributes of God in a way that they can relate to will enjoy. The book is not overly theological in its tone, but it is highly biblical in its teaching.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about incomprehensibility and how to explain or understand some of what happens in the world. That’s definitely one of the aspects of this book I’d enjoy. Thanks for the chance to win a copy.
