The Berlin Package – Book Review
Lovers of suspense novels and spy thrillers recently journeyed with Create With Joy to the mysterious continent of Africa where they met Pero Balatzar – a man who is more than he appears to be at first glance – in Murder On Safari.
Now, I’m excited to share that author Peter Riva has written the sequel to that story, The Berlin Package, and it’s even more gripping than the first one!
For those of you who are new to the series, Pero Balatzar is a film producer who has no real interest in being a hero – he just wants to lead an ordinary life. However, Pero finds himself in one dangerous situation after another due to his secondary job and secret life as an “Observer” for the CIA and State Department.
In The Berlin Package, Pero has finally emotionally and physically recovered from his harrowing adventures in Africa – chronicled in Murder On Safari – and is ready to tackle a new assignment: a filming project in Berlin for an adventure movie.
While poor Pero is in transit, however, he is given a non-descript package and asked to deliver it. The problem is, the package is “hot” – and there are deadly consequences for him should he fail to follow through on the assignment.
So, Pero wonders, what is so important about this package that someone is willing to kill him if it does not reach its intended destination? And, even if Pero successfully completes his mission, will he really be safe once the package arrives?
To help him solve the mystery, Pero calls upon his old pal Mbuno, the East African safari guide that we met in Murder On Safari.
In the process, Pero discovers the lengths the government will go to in order to cover up past mistakes. He learns how Nazi gold and uranium ties into world terrorism today. He also crosses paths with the deplorable Tische, who represents those who are committed at all cost to advancing the New World Order.
The Berlin Package is a tightly written book that will take you on a non-stop adventure. It’s a highly thrilling read for those who love fast-paced adventures.
I rate this book 4 stars.
