Seeds Of Revenge, Bitter Harvest, and A Muddied Murder – Book Review
’Tis the season to curl up in your favorite reading chair with a mug filled with your favorite warm beverage and a stack of cozy mysteries nearby to take you to places like the little town of Winsome – the little town outside of Philadelphia where you’ll meet Megan, the heroine of Wendy Tyson’s holiday whodunit, Seeds Of Revenge – the latest installment in Wendy’s popular Greenhouse Mystery Series!
If you’re in the mood for some holiday fun, Seeds Of Revenge is a great place to jump into the action of the series – but if you’re a fan of the genre, why not pick up this trio of cozies and enjoy Megan’s adventures from the start?
We first meet Megan – a former Chicago environmental attorney who has returned to Winsome to care for her grandmother and run her family’s organic farm and café – in A Muddied Murder . Things never quite turn out the way you plan them however. Megan finds herself cast into the role of amateur sleuth when a dead body turns up in her barn and she’s the chief suspect! How will Megan find the time to care for her pigmy goats, Heidi and Dimples in the midst of all of the madness?
Eventually Megan clears her name, however, and all is good in Winsome – at least for few months, when another body is found! Bitter Harvest, the second book in the series, focuses on a harvest festival that is meant to promote the town of Winsome, but ends up causing a stir among the business owners as they vie to sponsor the event and highlight their wares. Since money is the root of all evil, who among them would kill to feather their own nest? Once again, as if Megan did not have enough on her plate running a farm, a café, and caring for her family, she is called upon to assist with the investigation.
This brings us to the latest book in the series, Seeds Of Revenge – a book that is based on a series of revenge killings. In this story, which takes place during the Christmas season, Megan discovers that the sweet little town of Winsome isn’t quite as winsome as its residents might like it to appear. This crime gets personal as Megan’s own aunt, a mystery writer, is dragged into the mix, and Megan must follow a series of cryptic literary clues and dig into the victim’s sordid past to solve the crime.

When I was a teen and into my early 20s I used to love to read Harlequin romances for relaxing into a good story. Nowadays I prefer cozy mysteries and these sound like a set I’d like to open! Thanks for sharing your review 🙂
