What do you think of when you hear the word love? Do you think of love as a romantic feeling or a tender emotion you have whenever you’re around someone you care deeply about?

In our society, we tend to focus on the emotional aspects of love, but when we study the Bible, love is more of a verb than a noun – it’s not just something we feel – it’s something we do! When we love someone, we show them that we care through our actions. We are called to live and love like Jesus and to teach our children to do the same!

No one knows this better than Bob Goff, a New York Times best-selling author who is famous through sharing stories (in books like Love Does and Everybody how we can live the most incredible lives with a little imagination and a lot of love.

Now Bob has co-written a new book with his daughter Lindsey Goff Viducich, Love Does For Kids, which is filled with 46 colorfully illustrated stories of how you and your children can live out your faith in the most extraordinary of ways!

For instance, one of my favorite stories was that of “The Wedding Cake” – that multi-tiered, dream wedding cake that turned into a nightmare scenario as it fell to the ground right before the wedding!

Of that incident, Bob writes:

Like that cake, our lives are full of small rocks and pieces of asphalt. We all have those times when we’re clumsy, make mistakes, hurt someone’s feelings, forget to do the right thing, or lose our tempers. None of these disqualify us from being used by God to love others. Jesus somehow makes us able to serve anyway. He doesn’t ignore the areas of our lives where we aren’t perfect, and He wants to help us with the things we’re doing wrong. What He does is use us despite those imperfections.
