The Well Path – Book Review

The Well Path

The Well Path – Lose 20 Pounds, Reverse The Aging Process, Change Your Life by Jamé Heskett, M.D. – Book Review

Have you ever felt like a failure because, in spite of the goals that you set for yourself, or the fact that you’re an extremely high-functioning woman in most aspects of your life, your weight and appearance don’t represent your best self?

Jamé Heskett understands. She’s spends her days as a Medical Doctor listening to highly successful woman who have tried everything that they can to lose excess weight and decrease the odds of developing diseases associated with being overweight and aging – and says that it’s precisely because women “try everything” that “nothing works”.

Jamé says that the emotional toll of “trying everything” takes an enormous physical and emotional toll on our bodies:

  • Chronic dieting and calorie restriction
  • Trying every fad diet and exercise regimen that comes along
  • Regularly juice cleansing and detoxing
  • Over-exercising or under-exerting ourselves
  • Living with stress, anxiety and depression
  • Feeling like a failure

She developed The Well Path to show women that there is a better path from fat to fit and from sickness to health!

The Well Path is a 60-day program that teaches you to take a series of small steps that brings your body back into a state of balance so that you can thrive. The program focuses on helping you achieve a state of homeostasis, which means you obtain a good night’s sleep, eliminate hunger pangs and food cravings, and improve your energy and memory, among other things.

On this program you focus on adding nutrients, not depriving your body of food.

Jamé believes that in order to lose weight, you first have to heal the damage you’ve done to your bodies after years of dieting. The Well Path contains a detailed week-by-week and day-by-day calendar of lifestyle changes and challenges that help you improve your health by focusing on circulation, hunger, activity, nutrition, general health and exercise.

The Well Path is the perfect book for any woman who wants to change her life and health for the better and is looking for an integrative, holistic approach to health – not just another diet and exercise program.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I like that this doctor takes a whole body approach! Too often we treat symptoms and not the root causes.

  7. Sounds like a much more healthy approach than a lot I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing with us at the LMM Link-up!
