Getaway With God: The Everywoman’s Guide To Personal Retreat

Do you ever yearn to spend an extended period of one-on-one time with God in a private retreat setting but aren’t sure how to make that happen? Have you wondered where you would go – how you would carve time out of your busy schedule – who would take care of your family while you were away – and what you would do during your quiet time away if you were to transform this dream into reality?

If your soul longs for time with God. I urge you to pick up a copy of Getaway With God: The Everywoman’s Guide To Personal Retreat by Letitial Suk – a book that helps us turn our pipe-dreams into reality!

Getaway With God helps us to overcome all of the obstacles that stand in our way to planning a personal retreat. Letitia anticipates and addresses just about any question we could raise concerning personal retreat planning and provides us with guidelines and schedules to help us plan personal retreats of various lengths.

One thing that I really like about this book is that is both practical and spiritual. For instance, Leticia recognizes that not everyone has the means to take off for a week, so she provides ideas to help us begin right where we are. For instance, she suggests ways of “getting away” without “getting away”, such as retreating to a friend’s home (when they are not around) and re-examining the role of the Sabbath in our lives. She also helps us to plan and prepare for every aspect of our personal retreat, including practical things like food, safety and familial issues.

The focal point of Getaway With God is focused on planning a five-day Life Review Retreat which is an invaluable gift to give yourself on an annual basis.

Getaway With God is a book that can help every woman deepen their relationship with the Lord. I highly recommend this book to you!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This sounds like a great book! I went on a 24-hour solo camping trip and worked on a Life Plan in the spring, which sounds like a similar concept. It’s so important to take time to reflect on our lives and our purpose and spend time asking God to show us what he wants our next step to be.
