Write Satisfied On My Heart – The Power Of Scripture Journaling

Write Satisfied On My Heart Journals

Are You Satisfied With Your Life?

If I asked you to share a few unique qualities about yourself, what words would you choose?

Chances are, the word “satisfied” never entered your mind.

Satisfaction is not a quality we’re taught to aspire to in our culture. In fact, the opposite is true. From an early age, we’re taught to be ambitious, to seek new experiences, and to crave the latest and greatest material things, but pursue satisfaction? Not so much. Perhaps that’s why “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” is ranked the 5th best song of all time by music critics according to Acclaimed Music. That message resonates with the spirit of the world.

Scripture Journaling Transforms You From The Inside Out

Satisfied 1

Did you know that being satisfied ranks high on God’s list of desired qualities for us? Because God loves us, He does not want us to seek satisfaction in things that will ultimately leave us feeling empty inside. Instead, God wants us to seek Him because He is the only One who can satisfy our deepest longings, desires and needs.

As someone who both strives and struggles “to be content whatever the circumstances” (Philippians 4:11), I was fascinated to learn that Create With Joy reader Alyson – the gifted calligrapher and blogger behind Write Them On My Heart – recently spent seven months learning everything that the Bible had to say on this topic. In the process, she discovered that there are 365 verses in Scripture that deal with this topic – one for every day of the year!

The experience of delving so deeply into Scripture and learning how to seek and find satisfaction in the Lord changed her life. We all struggle with feelings of dissatisfaction at some point in life, but Alyson discovered that “the key to finding true satisfaction in life is in spending a large amount of time with the Lord in His Word.”

As a result of her studies, Alyson has created a visually stunning journal that allows us to journey through Scripture, day by day, learning everything that the Bible has to say on this topic as well. The new Write Satisfied On My Heart Journal invites us to read a Bible passage a day – to write out a specific Bible verse in the journal – and to answer a question about the daily passage.

Most pages contain four verses, separated by different watercolor backgrounds, for a total of 365 verses for the year. Throughout the book you’ll also find samples of Alyson’s beautiful calligraphy as she writes out a few of her favorite verses.

When you’ve completed your study, you’ll have a treasured keepsake journal to reflect upon and refer back to as you continue to write the verses you’ve studied on your heart. Eventually, you can pass this journal to pass down to future generations as a legacy and learning tool for other sojourners who are seeking to find satisfaction from God alone.
